MONDAY 25TH MAY

??????????? ???? ???? ? ???? ?????!

At Velocity we work closely with other organisations to promote cycling! Meet Emma Garden, the new Bikeability Coordinator at the Highland Council who supports children to learn how to cycle. Emma also inspires girls and women to be active through Girlguiding Scotland and Breeze UK!

Emma is here to show us how to carry out a safe start when cycling for essential travel or daily exercise!

The important things are:
– Look both ways before putting your bike onto the road and getting on your bike
– Signal for approx. 3 seconds
– Have a last look over your right shoulder before moving!

Here’s another video on setting off from Cycling Scotland:

As you may have heard, our cafe reopened last week and will be open for takeaway from 10am-4pm, Tuesday-Saturday. Our cafe team were delighted to find this note from the Junior Doctors at Raigmore Hospital. Thanks for supporting your local coffee shop as well as keeping us safe and healthy during lockdown!

You can never have too many good news stories during lockdown and this time it comes from Dingwall Academy, one of our Cycling Friendly Schools!

Dingwall Academy is showing us how to avoid being sedentary and emerge from lockdown more healthy and active! So far 61 people have joined their community Strava registering 150.5 hours and 1130.3 miles of activity. If you are a pupil or family of Dingwall Academy, why not join in!
