WEEK 10
TUESDAY 23RD JUNE
???? ???? ?
We’re delighted to see the North Bridge and Golden Bridge open to walkers, cyclists, scooters and wheelchair users for more sustainable travel to and from University of the Highlands and Islands ?♂️
There’s also an exciting development to the The Peffery Way, An t-Slighe Pheothair – a shared path between Strathpeffer and Dingwall led by the community! This will help people of all ages and abilities to walk, cycle and roll safely without using the fast and busy A834 ?
Please let us know about any active travel routes you’ll be using in and around Inverness!
“We are very pleased to announce that another section of work on the Peffery Way will be starting this week. Machinery will be working on the steep section alongside the railway in Knockbain Wood. When complete, this will link up the 2 sections of path that we built last year. It may be rather difficult, and sometimes not possible, to pass through this section while work is being carried out and so we suggest using the paths via Knockbain Farm as an alternative. If passing through the working area, please ensure you have been seen by the machine operators before approaching and then please follow their signals and directions.“
WEDNESDAY 24TH JUNE
We are seeking NEW BOARD MEMBERS!
Do you have a background in accounting, HR/legal, business management or hospitality? Do you have previous social enterprise or charity board experience? Or are you just passionate about cycling and have some time to help support your local cycling social enterprise?
We are seeking new board members to help guide the organisation through this period of change and growth as we work towards the organisation’s aims.
We’d love to hear from you if you’d like to get involved and you share our passion for cycling and our vision: increasing access to cycling in order to promote a healthy, happy lifestyle for everyone.
Please get in touch at: [email protected], for more information.
FRIDAY 26TH JUNE
?????? ??? ?? ???????? ?
My ten year old neighbor Zoe brought me and a few other fellow-villagers this lovely bundle of herbs and flower! ??Together with a list of information on how to use them in cooking or for skin treatment (the marigold pot flower)!
Isn’t that sweet? ??
Did you know that sage is really nice mixed into butter or olive oil and eaten together with your favorite pasta (maybe with some salt, fresh garlic and parmesan)? ??
Or that curry plant (looks a bit like rosemary, but is lighter in colour and softer from texture) has amazing essential oils which can be used for baking, ice creams or making herbal tea with? ??
And did you know that white Lisbon onion (a spring onion) have been grown in gardens since the 1700s, and is a lovely addition to a fresh green salad? ?
Thank you Zoe – and mother Kate for supporting her and together maintaining the herb garden! ?
