Velocity is recruiting for an interim CEO
/Velocity is a social enterprise established in 2012 which believes in positive social change through a fair, sustainable, inclusive, active and happy community. Velocity is made up of three core parts: a vegetarian café promoting healthy and sustainable food, a bicycle workshop which champions repair and re-use and a range of projects championing physical and mental health through active travel, human connection and physical activity.
We are currently looking for an Interim CEO. The purpose of this new role is to provide executive leadership to the organisation over a phase of transition with a view to identifying what strategic role the company needs and recruiting for it. The role will help support the existing management team across the three arms of the business. You will report to the Board of Directors.
A key part of the role will be bringing the three arms of the organisation into a closer working team. This is an excellent opportunity to lead change transformation in a well-established social enterprise which makes a real difference to people’s everyday lives and which is committed to helping make our community more sustainable.
Ideally you have a strong management background to apply for this position; you have a sound financial head with experience in business or in retail; you might have experience in social enterprises. Don’t be put off applying to us if you think you would be a good fit with transferable skills. We will encourage flexible working. The post will be part time for 6 months. Pay will be negotiated, likely as a consultancy with a fixed fee.
Velocity Cafe and Bicycle Workshop is an equal opportunities employer and we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons.
