  • Velocity Café & Bicycle Workshop 1 Crown Avenue Inverness, Scotland, IV2 3NF United Kingdom (map)

Please book your place via Ticket Tailor.

Come along to our Climate Café in Inverness - a space for people to get together to talk and act on climate change!

THEME: ‘Our Local Food’.

Donnie Macleod of Macleod Organics will be giving a short presentation. The relationship between our food system and the climate has been built into Macleod Organics ethos for over two decades and is now enshrined into their cooperative constitution. Donnie will chat to us about the 25 year journey of Macleod Organics from a organic box scheme idea to a multi-stakeholder organic cooperative that involves a complete food chain from the grower to the eater and the benefits thereof!

Donnie’s presentation will be followed by our usual Climate Café format (see below for more information). Let's discuss how we can look after local environments, feed ourselves and our local communities sustainability.

Hot drinks will be provided between 6.30 - 7pm. Feel free to bring food and snacks to the event as we are only serving hot drinks. You may also wish to bring a cushion and/or blankets as it may be more comfortable for sitting on the chairs and benches in the café.

What is a Climate Café? A Climate Café is a community-led, informal, inclusive and inspiring space to get together, share ideas, information and get involved in climate action locally.

What is it like to go along to a Climate Café? Climate Cafés are relaxed and informal, so you should be able to just drop in, have a cuppa, and a chat – just like any café! It is a space where everyone gets to contribute and the conversation moves through the topics people are interested in. Expect the chat to be wide ranging, with a positive focus on what we can do!
