Velocity’s Beginners Bike Maintenance Workshop will teach you the basics of how bikes work and build confidence to perform some of your own maintenance. We will start with an introduction going over the parts that make up your bike before going on to cover some techniques for checking your bike for any issues. We will then go into some more detail on common maintenance issues and how you can fix some of them at home. 

The ultimate aim of this workshop is for you to gain a better understanding of your bike, and how to look after it yourself in between visits to a mechanic. No prior experience is required. Participants should be aged 16 or older.

Tickets for this event are sold on a Pay What You Can basis in order to ensure our events are as accessible as possible. We have set up the following ticket prices, you can add to your contribution using the donate feature when booking your ticket.

• Low Income, £1: A nominal fee

• Chip In, £7.50: Covers a portion of venue hire and staff costs

• Suggested Price, £15 - Covers venue hire and staff costs for one person

• Pay It Forward, £22.50 - Covers costs for one person & subsidises another space on this or future workshops.

Every contribution made will help us continue to offer events to all in a way that is accessible and self-sustaining without relying heavily on external funding.
